We are still young, and our dream project began during the Covid era with humble beginnings. From the very start, we dedicated ourselves to a structured daily routine—mornings were spent formulating and testing our products, while nights were devoted to research and learning new techniques to refine and enhance them for the next day. It was a long and challenging journey, but every second was worth it.
What started in a small kitchen soon grew into something much bigger. We trained local Zanzibaris to join our production team, with each member personally mentored by our founders. Through dedication, passion, and perseverance, we transformed our vision into reality.

Our team mainly consists of Zanzibaris, accompanied by specialists from different walks of the wellness world, to ensure the highest quality standards are met, and our products are perfectly suited for our beloved customers.
From Passion to Purpose
The Founders of Zuri Rituals
Javed Jafferji and Kulsum Jafferji are the founders of Zuri Rituals. During the Covid-19 lockdown, they saw an opportunity to pursue their long-standing dream of creating a natural skincare line. They completed various courses in natural skincare and handicraft making, and then went for further training in the United Kingdom to refine their skills in skincare formulations and chemistry. His wife Kulsum similarly, took a natural interest as she was the founder of Cinnamon Spa; one of the first spas in Zanzibar Stone Town founded more than ten years ago. Our local staff were trained by her so they can form key roles in Zanzibar.

Nelly N’Gouah-Beaud’s Journey in Beauty
Nelly N’Gouah-Beaud French-born, trilingual in French, English and Italian with a degree in Communication Science from the University of Paris XIII. She also holds a certificate in public relations and one in sales management from the London Institute. Furthermore, she holds a diploma as a Beauty Specialist from The North East College of London and obtained a Massage Therapy certificate from the International Health and Beauty Council of England. She has over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry working in different countries worldwide.
